A group of islands off the coast of Japan is among the best-known for its breathtaking landscapes and natural wonders.
Now it’s being offered to viewers for the first time in English, with a Japanese-language version.
The list of available titles includes the first two seasons of the Korean drama “The Island,” and the first three seasons of “The Ocean.”
The group includes four films with names such as “The Jungle” and “The Land of Waves,” and is set to premiere at the Japan International Film Festival next month.
The films have been shot mostly in Japan, but there are also episodes filmed in Thailand, Indonesia and other countries.
Each of the films has been adapted into Japanese, and some Japanese voices have been added, such as in the Korean version of “I Saw You” and in “The Legend of the Sea.”
In addition, “The Garden of Eden,” which follows a young boy on a quest for love, is available for English-language viewing, with the original Japanese version.
It is part of the Japanese-only “Hollow House,” a series of films that has been made available in English for years.
The island of Hokkaido has long attracted tourists.
The islands are popular for sightseeing, with hundreds of Japanese, Chinese and American tourists a year traveling to the islands.
The island is famous for its wild beauty and its secluded coastline.
